Welcome
to Project 7
The Project 7 Water Authority is
a unique cooperative effort among
seven water entities to provide high
quality potable water to the
municipalities and rural areas of
the Uncompahgre River Valley.
The seven entities that represent
the Project 7 Water Authority are:
-
The City of Montrose
-
The City of Delta
-
The Town of Olathe
-
The Tri-County Water Conservancy
District
-
The Menoken Water District
-
The Chipeta Water District
-
The Uncompahgre Valley Water
Users Association
The governing body of the
Authority is a five member Board of
Directors in which all legislative
power of the Authority is vested.
The Authority was established on
September 29, 1977, pursuant to the
provisions of Colorado Revised
Statutes (CRS) 1973, 29-1-203.2, as
a separate governmental entity to
effect the treatment of raw water
and transmission of finished water.

Correction Notice for the 2006
Consumer Confidence Report 2007
Edition. It has been brought to the
attention of Project 7 Water
Authority, the domestic water
treatment plant for the Uncompahgre
Valley that a required disclaimer
was inadvertently omitted from our
latest Consumer Confidence Report (CCR).
If you get your water from the
Cities of Montrose or Delta, Town of
Olathe, Tri-County Water
Conservancy, Chipeta Water District
or Menoken Water District, you
should have received a CCR in late
April 2007 informing you of the High
Quality of the Drinking Water
processed in 2006. The following
required statement was missing or
incomplete: In order to ensure that
tap water is safe to drink, the
Colorado Department of Public Health
and Environment prescribes
regulations limiting the amount of
certain contaminants in water
provided by public water systems.
The Food and Drug Administration
regulations establish limits for
contaminants in bottled water that
must provide the same protection for
public health. Project 7 and your
drinking water providers remain
committed to providing safe and
affordable water to the residents of
the Uncompahgre Valley. Thank you.
